The Acoustic Barrier comprises a series of vertical support posts, usually galvanized steel universal columns, the acoustic elements are Aluminium cassettes 4 meters long x 600 mm high filled with an highly absorption mineral wool.These cassettes are located within the flanges of the posts and laid on edge one on top of another thereby making barriers of different heights in increments of 600 mm. (We can make custom heights if the quantity required is sufficient for economic production). One side of the barrier is perforated to allow the mineral wool to absorb the noise.
The barrier can be successfully used on highways, railways, and industrial premises to mitigate the problems of environmental noise.
The height of the barrier is usually defined by the engineer but we can advise as necessary.
A unique feature of our barrier is that it can be curved in the vertical plane due to the circular design of the top and bottom interlocking edges. It can also be coloured to your own requirements for aesthetic purposes.
The acoustic performance was achieved with the aid of the acoustic division of Salford University, tests on the finished design showed compliance with the highest classification of all the relevant UK and European standards.

Rigid plastic vanes are mounted vertically on a galvanized steel rail at a centre distance of 666mm; this cuts out the passage of light up to an incident angle of 16 degrees, but during daylight hour they do not prevent sideways visibility.
The design of the mounting allows the system to be easily erected on existing or new Tensioned Corrugated or Open Box Beam crash barrier with a common mounting bracket. It can also be mounted on to concrete barrier systems.
The vanes are available 600mm, 900mm, or 1200mm high. Remember that standard TCB is already 760mm (nominal)above ground in a standard installation.
Apart from repair to crash damage the system is maintenance free.
