TD19/06 REQUIREMENTS FOR ROAD RESTRAINT SYSTEMS

This new standard details the procedures to be followed by the various parties involved in the design and provision of various types of Road Restraint Systems, including the Road Restraint Risk Assessment Process RRRAP software package.

The design process, of which the RRRAP is an integral part enables the Designer to determine at each specific site, the need for a Restraint System.

The RRRAP software has two main elements: risk analysis, and risk assessment. Risk analysis enables the designer to enter information about a particular site (such as: location and hazard; traffic speed; alignment), and the risk that each hazard may pose, to be presented in terms of the probability of an accident/year/km and benefit/cost ratio. The software then enables various control measures to be reviewed and their effect on the risk level.

IN HOUSE DESIGN TEAMS

With the introduction of the new standards our team is the favored choice of designers and specifiers. Offering unrivalled technical and design knowledge, our engineers can provide advice on site evaluation and design, development of specifications, product selection and construction techniques, ensuring that the relevant approval standards (UK and Europe) are met.

We specify the most economical and suitable systems whilst conforming to the local conditions in order to obtain the highest road safety level achievable.

Detailed sets of drawings and approved general arrangements are available for all sites and systems.
